Electrical Engineer Intern

Job Responsibilities


As an Electrical Engineering Intern at Viasat you will be responsible for assisting on the design of a wide range of diverse hardware for testing and troubleshooting our highly regarded commercial, military and space products. You will produce Standard Test Equipment (STE), test fixture and interface test adapter (ITA) documentation, including custom PWA schematics, which meet performance, cost, and manufacturability goals. In this role you will work closely with Operations, Production, and R&D on continuing to build our test capabilities for new products while improving existing test devices and methods. Your ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, in a fast paced, rapidly changing, short turn-around environment will be key factor to the success of the team. You’ll be asked to contribute to program responsibilities to include presenting at Test Station Hardware Design, Design Reviews, Solidworks Electrical Schematic Drafting, Bill-Of-Materials (BOM) Creation, Agile (CMDB) Submissions.

Requirements


  • Pursuing and Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics and/or a related field
  • Strong Mechanical Proficiency 
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
