Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Job Responsibilities
Manufacturing Engineering Intern will be assigned to products and functional areas within Operations, with the responsibility to cover:

  •  Learn Production & Depot support needs in the assembly and testing of Electro-mechanical box-builds
  •  Helping to continuously improve and optimize existing production processes
  •  Coordinating with cross-functional teams for problem solving and project work
  •  Dispositioning and root cause analyses of discrepant material
  •  Assist in the development of tooling, fixturing, and other assembly aids
  •  Sustaining process documentation and approving document Ops change reviews
  •  Maintaining, troubleshooting, and evaluating production equipment as needed
  •  Supporting production processes including product flows and routings

Requirements
  •  Pursuing degree in Mfg, Industrial, Mechanical or other related
  •  Mechanical & computer aptitude
  •  Some knowledge of automated assembly machines, and/or ability to operate such equipment
  •  Some knowledge in troubleshooting and repair ability for assembly and tooling
  •  Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Agile, Oracle, Python, SolidWorks, and/or other manufacturing software
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate across all levels and functions

Preferences
  •  Experience in high tech manufacturing as an Intern
  •  Experience with Lean 6 Sigma methodologies
  •  Experience with the requirements to meet IPC-A-610 acceptability standard for Class 3 assemblies
  •  Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents and engineering drawings (GD&T a plus)
