Stormwater Engineering Paraprofessional Intern

The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is hiring a Stormwater Engineering Parapforessional intern. Apply now for this 12- month internship experience.
JOB SUMMARY: The intern will assist with various projects throughout the assignment, including, but not limited to:
Project Title: Stormwater Strategic Support
-Assist with stormwater hydrologic and hydraulic model data management, analysis, and verification, which may include stormwater modeling.
-Assist with conducting field investigations related to stormwater inventory, monitoring, and
reported problems (debris, erosion, and flooding).
-Support local stormwater master planning.
-Review planning level technical memos and reports.
-Support project administration of external contracts.
Project Title: Stormwater Design Support
-Review project deliverables and assist PMs with the compilation of formal review comments.
-Review drawings, specifications, geotechnical, and other reports.
-Provide AutoCAD support for in-house design projects.
-Assist with the use of LiDAR data, survey data, and drone data to evaluate surfaces through AutoCAD Civil3D.
-Assist with tracking metrics on individual design and construction projects.
-Attend design project meetings and site visits with PMs.
Project Title: Stormwater Construction Program Planning and Prioritization Support
-Assist in Stormwater Construction Program project scope, schedule, and cost development.
-Assist in Business Risk Exposure/Probable Annual Risk scoring of projects nominated for the
Stormwater Construction Plan.
-Assist in analysis of overall Stormwater Construction Plan cash flow and prioritization.
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
-Candidate must be able to work 40 hours per week. Working hours are Monday - Friday during regular business hours
-Candidate must be able to commit to up to a 12-month assignment with an option to extend the assignment at NEORSD's discretion. This internship program provides a time-limited role at NEORSD with no express or implied guarantee of future employment beyond the assignment period. This position is governed by all applicable NEORSD administrative policies, practices and procedures related to temporary employees
-Candidate must possess a valid driver's license with a driving record per the District's acceptable guidelines
Education
The candidate must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program or better with a declared major of Civil Engineering or a closely related field of study. Candidates who graduated from a related program within 24 months of the date of application are preferred.
