Cyber Security Intern - Traditional (Hybrid Model)

***This internship is intended to be a HYBRID Model (2-3 Days in Office) role** 
***This seasonal summer intern position will be available June 2022-August 2022***

 As a Cyber Security Intern, you’ll gain insight into how we create and execute on many challenges that come with being one of top retailers in the U.S. This internship opportunity will give you access to develop industry-related knowledge and skills in a professional environment, network with Best Buy employees, and explore various career paths with the potential for a full-time offer barring successful completion of the internship. 

You will gain experience and provide support across Best Buy’s ERC organization spanning risk and compliance, incident response, user compliance, and security operations under the direction of the Chief Information Security Officer, other department leadership and in partnership with various areas of the company.
 
The Cyber Security Summer intern will provide support across the entire Enterprise Risk & Compliance team. Responsibilities will include: 
  • Assist with the engineering of information security controls and technologies
  • Assist with the development and maintain system plans and schematics and diagrams
  • Assist with continuous process improvements related to the identification and remediation of technology compliance findings
  • Application and user on-boarding via integration with the Enterprise Privilege Access Management Solution
  • Ability to troubleshoot network, software, and hardware issues
  • Supporting and troubleshooting production systems as required to optimize performance, resolving production problems, and providing timely follow-up on problem tickets
  • Technologies include Active Directory, LDAP, Privileged Access Management Solution, Secrets Management
  • Assist in requirements analysis for Privileged Access User Management initiatives
Required Skills and Experience: 
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree from an accredited college/university, graduating between Fall 2022 or Spring 2023 
  • Actively enrolled in an accredited college/university during the duration of the internship. Internships are not intended for graduating seniors 
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered) 
Preferred Skills and Experience: 
  • Experience with operating systems, networking, help desks
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • A team-focused mentality with the proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders 
  • Ability to gather facts and insights to present thoughtful security recommendations to partners and leadership
  • Programming/development experience
