Senior CPU Architect - JR0163371

Job Description
This senior full-time position is responsible for developing the architectural features for next-generation flagship Intel CPU cores.

You will become part of the world class team that develops all our server and client processors:
  • Inventing, conceptualizing, and specifying Intel Architecture (IA) ISA features for Intel's next-generation CPUs
  • Experimentally exploring feature ideas through modeling, simulation, and data analysis
  • Interacting and communicating with architecture and design teams as well as internal/external customers to achieve project goals
  • Supporting internal and external software enabling
  • Technical leadership of distributed projects involving many different sites and disciplines

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job.

Minimum Requirements
Candidate must have a Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineer, or related computing discipline.
8+ years of work or educational experience in several of the following areas:
  • Computer architecture, including specific areas of technical ownership/expertise relevant to CPUs
  • Coding and debug skills (C/C++, scripting languages)
  • Simulator development (functional and/or power/performance)
  • Assembly language programming and debugging

Preferred Qualifications
Compiler development (e.g., LLVM) and low-level software optimization.
Comprehensive knowledge of Intel Architecture ISA.
Knowledge of Intel Core/Atom microarchitecture.
Industry experience in CPU product development, delivery, and support.
Knowledge of ISA specification frameworks and expertise in the definition, implementation and validation of ISA features.
Research publications, patent filings, or other evidence of personal technical innovation in computer architecture.
Familiarity with broader computer architecture research through conferences and/or job responsibilities.
