Environmental Professional, Junior-Mid Level, Fairchild AFB, WA
We are looking to place a Junior- to Mid-Level Environmental Professional to provide on-site support at Fairchild AFB, WA. This effort will include providing program and project-level Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) in support of the Air Force Environmental Restoration Program (ERP).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Tracking project schedules and activities
- Coordinating environmental outreach with the surrounding community
- Environmental project programming
- Contractor oversight
- Maintenance and update of program documents and the administrative record
- Assistance with post-award contract management
- Managing remediation projects
- Performing work in support of CERCLA/RCRA environmental cleanup actions
- Performing field work, managing cleanup projects, and oversight of environmental remediation activities, especially at federal facilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Environmental Science/Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology or other relevant area.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Environmental Professional
- Knowledge of the Air Force Environmental Restoration and/or Compliance Programs preferred.
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification a plus.
- Successful completion of a NACI clearance for a CAC.
- Knowledge of CERCLA and RCRA.
- Shall possess a working knowledge of other Field Environmental Statutes and State-Specific Regulations such as the State Environmental Protection Act and the State Administrative Code, Local Regulations and Statutes, as well as Air Force and/or DoD Environmental Regulations and documentation.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- High degree of organization and detailed documentation.
- Experience with databases and data tracking is essential.
- Proficiency with MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, and/or Adobe).
- Experience with GIS a plus.
- Motivated self-starters.
