Job Description:

Viasat produces innovative communication products, including sophisticated digital radios, state of the art satellite equipment, and special purpose antennas. If you are a curious and innovative engineer who desires to perform RF board level design, RF testing and troubleshooting, and are looking for a challenge, then this job is for you! In this role you will expand your capabilities working with our expert engineering team. You will work on a collaborative team of electrical, mechanical, manufacturing and test engineers to ensure the successful development, testing, and readiness for production, of cutting edge tactical communication systems. These encompass transmitters, receivers, power amplifiers, modems, and all related circuitry.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related degree
  • Related undergraduate coursework in the one or more of the following areas:
  • Lumped and printed filters, low-noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, mixers, modulators, etc.
  • Familiarity and/or working knowledge of Keysight ADS or other RF simulation tools
  • Familiarity and/or working knowledge of RF test equipment, such as
  • Spectrum analyzer, Network analyzer, RF Sig Gen, etc.
  • Good understanding of theoretical RF principles, such as
  • phase-noise, intermodulation and harmonic distortions, noise figure, group delay, modulation methods of digital signals, oscillators, RF synthesis
  • Good command of Windows tools: Excel, Word, Outlook, Power point, etc.
  • Ability to learn quickly and retain information
  • Good oral and writing communication skills
  • US citizenship required


Preferences:


  • Familiarity with radio/communication RF system architectures
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance
