As an Associate Database Administrator, you’re responsible for installation, configuration & managing database server and applying security patches & other Patches for upgrading versions of databases on different platforms.

Work you could do as an Associate Developer – Database Administrator
• Define, detail and scope the technical requirements into solution architecture and drive an independent project from an architectural standpoint.
• Design, develop and/or re-engineer application components, and integrate software packages, programs, and reusable objects residing on multiple platforms.
• Support Technical Consultants and lead in building solutions and providing technical mentoring and guidance
• Migrations, moves and cloning of databases and environments.
• Technical Configuration changes of database environments.
• Exposure to management of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilities in database environments, including replication, partitioning

About the Client Innovation Center (CIC):
• The IBM Client Innovation Center is an in-bound delivery model where we support our clients from our Baton Rouge center
• Some travel is expected, and all candidates must be willing and able to travel to meet our client needs across the US. Travel is typically related to knowledge transfer and training at the client site. You are expected to travel up to 50% of the time.
• You must live in, or be willing to relocate to Louisiana once our offices reopen permanently (currently, many IBM offices are working remotely due to Covid)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Demonstrated programming proficiency and experience with 1 of the following (Java, C++, Python, Linux, SQL, HTML, VBA, Exposure to web services, API, and multiple Java application frameworks highly desired
  • Basic Shell scripting knowledge, DB2 DBMS, SQL, Tivoli, Oracle DBA etc.
  • Familiar with database development on platform like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Ability to thrive in an ever-changing, technology-based consulting environment, using agile development techniques

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Awareness of key software development life cycles (Waterfall, Agile, SCRUM, etc).
