Structural Engineering Student Internship (Summer 2022)
Requirements:
Candidates should be a Junior or Senior in college working towards a BS in Civil Engineering (with emphasis in Structural Engineering- Buildings), Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or similar program.
Candidates should have some experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit and basic knowledge and understanding of engineering principals (i.e. successfully completed Statics and Strengths of Materials courses).
Candidates must have attention to detail, legible handwriting, willingness to learn, written and oral communication skills, and overall professionalism. They must also be timely, honest, reliable, friendly, and comfortable interacting with clients, vendors, answering phones, and the general public.
Typical Duties may include:
- Work and communicate effectively with other Staff members in an office environment
- Assist Management with various tasks as needed
- Assist with Shop Drawing reviews
- Assist with Drafting back checking
- Develop dead and live loads, determine tributary areas, and follow load paths for structural building design projects
- Site visits to active project locations in the Boise area for field measurements, hand sketches, and photo documentation
Work Hours:
Work hours will be scheduled around classes and during normal business hours of Monday through Friday 8AM to 5PM. This is a part time position where the number of hours worked will be based on experience, class schedule, and work load.
