These roles serve the customer by portrayal of clear brand identity and operational support towards the back-end functions of a large retail operation. Overview:
Each summer URBN Inc. welcomes candidates from across the country to immerse themselves within teams across our portfolio of brands and gain paid, hands-on learning experience in the area of business which they choose to pursue. For 10 weeks, interns will share in the unique culture & perks found at our Home Office in the historic Philadelphia Navy Yard, while developing the skills to succeed in a fast-paced retail environment. Our selective program also offers a summer full of intern events, small group exposure to leadership, insight into company initiatives, off-site field trips & even a chance full time job opportunity. The 2022 Summer Internship Program dates are to be determined. Summer Internships typically run from June to August.
Store Design
 
Qualifications / Responsibilities include but not limited to: Assist Store Design team in design for development of new stores, renovations, remodels & special projects, CAD design templates / details, material sample assembly; organization, creativity, detail oriented, & proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint
 
Store Environment (Collaborator)
 
Responsibilities included but not limited to: Store Environment communication support and corporate merchandising related tasks, weekly content creation for leadership update, cataloging content, concept inspiration. Considered candidates must be creative problem solvers with proven ability to prioritize and multitask.
  
Qualifications: Must Be a Current Store Employee to qualify for this Role
 
Store Communications & Operations
 
Skills / Responsibilities include but not limited to: New store opening projects, Event marketing & planning, reporting, calendar management (Outlook), supply ordering / management, information packets. Considered candidates will demonstrate communication & organizational skills, attention to detail & Microsoft Suite proficiency (iMovie, Adobe Creative Suite a +).
 
Cross functional partners: Field team (Stores), Accounts Payable, Store Operations, Buying, External Vendors
 
Omni Operations (Collaborator)
 
Responsibilities included but not limited to: Assist in development & delivery of optimal customer experience in retail and ecommerce channels, communicate with stores + related tasks, Store & Omni Fulfillment (in-store pickup and pack & ship) reporting. Considered candidates must be creative problem solvers, and maintain strong time management & communication skills.
 
Qualifications: Must Be a Current Store Employee to qualify for this Role
 

Buying Operations
Responsibilities included but not limited to: Entry & revision of purchase orders and reorders, order tracking to ensure timely delivery, communication as liaison between vendor and buyer. Considered candidates will be passionate about retail planning, familiar with retail math concepts & applications, possess strong statistical analysis, communication, and organizational skills. Must be proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word & Outlook.
 
Video (You are technically proficient, inventive and interested in storytelling)
 
Responsibilities included but not limited to: Collaborate with Social and other departments to assist development and planning of video content, editing, & color correction; gather inspiration and materials for video treatments & storyboards; assist on shoots as camera operator, DIT and production assistant.
 
Qualifications: Qualified candidates will have proficient skills in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Speedgrade, Photoshop and/or Illustrator as well a technical knowledge of DSLRs, lenses, video formats and storage. Must have experience editing videos for web content. Show strong creative and organizational skills as well as the ability to self-manage and learn quickly. Will understand trends in Social Media and possess the ability to accurately recognize and forecast fashion & cultural trends as they relate to the target customer.
 
Copywriting
 
Responsibilities included but not limited to: Development of product descriptions; assist with marketing & email segment copy (ex: event invitations, communication with bloggers, website banners, trunk show announcements & social media request); update website copy; creation of city guides for store openings. 
 
Qualifications: Highly considered candidates will show exceptional creative writing skills, high attention to detail (grammar & spelling). Must show strong communication, time management and ability to multitask. Will be proficient in Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Word.
 
URBN Community Blogger & Photographer
Responsibilities / skills included but not limited to: Work across campus to gain creative coverage of on campus events (ex. Internship Program, Coffee Chats, Creative workshops, Gallery & Art Openings, URBN Markets, employee & dog interviews) as well as brand collaborations and product launches. Ability to understand and maintain strong brand and cultural voice in creating content for internal facing blog, Community emails and @urbncommunity social channels. Exceptional candidates will exemplify passion for community building through creative writing / storytelling, photography/ videography skills. Must be innovative, artistic, detail oriented and proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.

Customer Experience / Success
Responsibilities included but not limited to: Create a unique, innovative and inspirational customer experience that encompasses brand lifestyle and image while maintaining all store operational goals; Assist overseeing store employee & various reporting, product education & communication as well as customer feedback and customer facing outreach initiatives for stores.
Cross Functional Partners: Sr Manager of Product Education & Customer Experience, Store Operations, Home Office & Field (stores) leadership, Stores teams.
Talent Development / College Program (Ambassador)
Responsibilities included but not limited to: Support of intern events & attendance; Create weekly plans for social media content; Support Talent Acquisition team in recruiting for internships & entry level positions as needed.
 
Qualifications: Selected candidates will display strong interest in talent development (L&D, OD, Training) and running a large-scale employee program. Must possess passion for people and show developed interpersonal communication skills. Will be detail oriented, able to prioritize and proficient in all social platforms as well as Excel and Outlook.

Summer Internship Program Application Process:
 
  1. Select the one bucketed internship posting that best suits your interests & skills. You will be considered for various opportunities throughout the brands from this application via our careers website. If there is a project component in the application (see above), it is required that you submit this to be considered for a position.
  2. Complete HireVue: Candidates selected will receive an email with a link to complete a HireVue Video Interview. You will have 2 days to complete this portion of the application once the email is received.
  3. Video interviews will be scheduled with our internal teams, continuing on a rolling basis through the winter until each has selected the best fitting candidate for their role.
