Position Objective:
Lab Technician to conduct basic laboratory testing on roof membrane samples according to written instructions and under the supervision of Lab Director.
Position Responsibilities:
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of laboratory facility
• Conduct basic laboratory testing
• Follow safety procedures
• Catalog and track specimens
• Photograph specimens
• Work with liquid nitrogen
• Produce written laboratory reports
• Assist Professionals in the field as needed
• Assist in specialized research projects
• Assist in demonstrations and continuing education classes hosted for clients
Education & Experience:
• Associates Degree required
• Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required
• Desire to learn and grow
• Preferred skills:
- Previous laboratory experience
- Knowledge of roofing materials, especially built-up roofing membranes and modified-bitumen membranes
- Certification as a Registered Roof Observer (RRO) or Registered Roof Consultant (RRC)
- Certification as an engineer-in-training (EIT) or currently holding a professional engineering (PE) license
