Construction Project Manager


Job Title: Project Manager
Region: Western USA
Reporting To: Senior Project Managers
Responsible For: Manage projects ranging up to $40 Million. Report to a SR Project Manager while providing assistance in general duties. Also responsible for ensuring project management and required administrative reports are completed per Federal, State, and HHI Corporation. 
Job Purpose: To ensure quality of work and compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and company policies. To ensure project completion in accordance with the schedule. To manage overall quality and safety needs of the project while maintaining the project’s schedule and financials.
 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Leading of project staff in the process of completing projects
  2. Organizing and overseeing job site administration
  3. Organizing and coordinating field supervision
  4. Creating and submitting project related invoices
  5. Assisting in the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
  6. Developing, monitoring, updating, and communicating the progress schedule and its periodic revisions
  7. Managing the direct labor force and maintaining labor relations
  8. Managing subcontractor schedules, quality-of-work, coordination with other trades, and payments
  9. Coordinating cost-progress targets with production
  10. Creating and maintaining a safe/secure job site environment
  11. Identifying and resolving all changes
  12. Establishing and maintaining relationships with the Owner, design professionals, building officials, local businesses, and police and fire departments
  13. Establishing, maintaining, conducting, and policing detailed procedures for the submittal, review, coordination, approval, and distribution of shop drawings, samples, etc.
  14. Establishing and maintaining all project engineering files relating to subcontract and bid package records, plans, specifications, changes, clarifications, and as-built documents
  15. Reviewing all vendor schedules of values and preparing the general schedule of values
  16. Managing the periodic requisition procedure for review, submittal, and payment
  17. Expediting vendor estimates and proposals and preparing appropriate company estimates and proposals
  18. Evaluating subcontractor payment requisitions relative to actual work performed
  19. Coordinating on-site with corporate office activities
 
 
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Must be able to work with government and non-government personnel in a professional and clear manner. Be able to work with different trades and construction focuses to ensure a quality environment without limiting the trades ability to complete work. Must be able to properly communicate over the phone and in writing to upper management to include Subcontractors, Suppliers, Onsite Staff, Owners, other PM’s, Superintendents, and Corporate Safety. 

Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture REQUIRED
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (test will be given to evaluate proficiency)
  • Bluebeam
  • Excellent plan and specification reading skills
  • Well-developed organizational skills
  • Honest
  • Dependable
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Must pass government security clearance standards
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen test if hired
  • Good driving record, valid license - insurable through the company
  • Able to lift to 50 pounds

Preferred
  • Experience in Federal government or commercial/industrial construction project management and estimating
  • LEED Training / Corp Of Engineers Training
  • Experience in Sage Project Management preferred
  • Experience in AutoCAD preferred
  • Scheduling knowledge – Primavera P6 experience preferred
