Corporate Engineer

Job Summary:
Provides technical support to WCC’s production facilities. Participates in planning, layout, installation and start-up of production and material handling equipment. Communicates with OEM on fault resolution. Audits maintenance processes and procedures. Identifies and disseminates technical best practices. Provides troubleshooting/technical assistance to WCC production facilities by telephone or in person. This position will transfer to a manufacturing facility later.
Primary Accountabilities: % of time
Equipment installation/upgrade and tooling support 25%
Troubleshooting/technical support on site and via phone 20%
Facilitates support between plants OEM 10%
Audit maintenance procedures, identify best practices, maintain PM documents 10%
Focus on Continuous Improvement for technical processes and procedures 15%
Computerized maintenance system administration and audits 10%
Other duties as assigned by supervisor 10%
Nature and Scope:
Initially the candidate will be submerged in training on manufacturing and operations of high speed packaging. Interacting with WCC plant personnel and technical personnel at OEM to ensure efficient performance of equipment. Identify, create, and disseminate best operating practices and maintenance standards at plant level. Provide oral and written feedback to corporate engineering management. Participate in the design, planning and installation of equipment. Job requires up to 50% travel with in the WCC system. Must be willing to relocate to other Western Container Facilities. Future potential merit based promotions may be available in facility engineering, Technical Manager, General Manager, Corporate Engineering.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: BS from accredited university or college with a major in an engineering discipline
Experience/Skills: Skills in writing technical reports. Working knowledge of AutoCad. Working understanding of mechanical and or electrical engineering principles. Participation in a technical Internship or summer employment is of value.
