Art Director/Instructor

The Art Director is responsible to aid in the training of art staff, development and oversight of the art program, help encourage, support, participants and staff concerning art program. Incorporate art therapy into rotations to help students express their thoughts and feelings through fine art mediums. Create an environment for students to learn practical fine art skills, process through creating, and use their imaginations.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Develop and implement a complete Fine Arts Program (including theme-based, meaningful projects)
  • Create a free and safe space for children to create and be successful
  • Teach participants between the ages of 8 and 12 to new techniques as well as an appreciation of art
  • Organize and maintain creative arts facility and equipment including complete safety checks
  • Train and supervise all instructors
  • Maintain art equipment and inspection of the premises and equipment
  • Provide free time activities for participants interested in fine art
  • Prepare art building and supplies for each week’s programming
  • Complete a post-summer written waterfront report with detailed description of inventory, purchase recommendations, replacement needs
