Health & Wellness Intern -Summer and/or Fall 2020

On-Campus ACA Variable Hours
US Work Authorization required.  

1. Assist in the coordination and development of Health Extension: Advocacy Research Teaching (HEART) Initiative outreach and teaching activities (e.g., stigma reduction materials and education).
  2. Work cooperatively to address the opioid epidemic with duties as assigned after receiving training on the Opioid Epidemic, specific to Utah and Carbon/Emery Counties, and efforts to address the epidemic (e.g., prevention, stigma reduction, harm reduction, advocacy, treatment, etc.).
  3. Work cooperatively with faculty to plan, organize, present, promote, and supervise special events (e.g., Opioid or Health & Wellness Summits) or outreach activities (e.g., community dinners or educational events).
  4. Attend important meetings and serve on relevant coalitions when requested in order to work with community partners and have significant positive impacts on reducing the opioid epidemic.
  5. Engage in research activities with faculty mentor, such as collaborate to review relevant knowledge base(s), create literature reviews, collect data, analyze data, and disseminate research.
