Missionary Summer Camp Staff- Paid Internship

Summary:

Have a heart to serve in urban missions? Our summer camp positions offer 300+ service hours (30-40 hours per week). The positions include two weeks of paid training, a competitive base pay, signing/performance bonuses, out-of-state relocation assistance and full room & board (on our beautiful campus) for 11 weeks. You'll directly work with a leadership team with over 13+ years of non-profit program experience, and will have countless experiences in communities, neighborhoods, and other areas apart from the camp environment.

FVCA hosts a yearly summer camp that works with under-resourced, low-income, and high-risk students in the state of Illinois. Summer staff will gain a greater knowledge of community systems (like food stamps, WIC, government housing, foster care, child abuse....etc) as well as be given the opportunity to work for an established non-profit organization that will provide training in the areas of fundraising and recruitment.

Summer staff are tasked to plan with great detail, prepare and facilitate fun programs for children and teen campers ages 6-18. Example activities that are planned for the summer camp include college visits, work visits, outings, games and camp activities such as hiking, canoeing and outdoor camping. It's our expectation that staff members will lead and instruct our kids to participate in all camp specific activities and counsel the campers under their own leadership. A big part of our training is to train summer staff to respond to real-world situations according to the values and rules of FVCA.
