Job Title: Full-Time or Part-Time Metal Plating Line Tech

Reports To: Production Manager

Rate: $15-$22.00/hour, based on experience

Schedule: Full-Time, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Mon-Fri, or Part-Time, a 4-hour block between the hours of 8:00 am-7:00 pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow established safety procedures and work instructions.
  • Read and follow the sales order step by step to ensure quality plating of products.
  • Monitor process control of all plating and cleaning baths to ensure process is within predetermined parameters.
  • Operate hoist system for submerging the parts in the cleaning or plating baths. This may also be performed by hand.
  • Rack and unrack parts by hand. Prepare product for shipping.
  • Inspect coatings for quality control.
  • Maintain production records.
  • Occasionally answer customer questions in relation to process specifications and applications of coatings.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • On-the-job training provided. No plating experience necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Must be able to read work instructions in order to follow proper procedures
  • Must be able to read safety warnings and chemical labels
  • Must be able to communicate verbally with others
  • Able to carry out basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division mostly in relation to maintaining accurate records, and calculating surface area and volume measurements.

Work Conditions:

Workers are sometimes required to lift heavy packages, bend, stoop, or operate heavy equipment (hoist and forklift). The production facility is organized to minimize walking during processing. Workers are on their feet for approximately 85% of each production day. To reduce the risk of accidents, workers are required to follow strict safety regulations.

Physical Requirements:

Candidate must be able to lift 25-35 lbs to above shoulder level. Must pass on-site physical abilities test.
