Research Assistant

The applicant will assist with ongoing research within and operation of the Logan River Observatory at the Utah Water Research Laboratory.

Essential Job Functions:

Able to be in the elements for up to 8 hours, 

Standing in and around rivers for up to 8 consecutive hours,

Walking up to 4 miles, 

Able to walk and stand in a moving river for up to 2 consecutive hours, 

Able to change positions quickly,

Able to maneuver safely over difficult terrain,

Able to lift 50 lbs and carry it 200 m, 

Able to withstand significant temperature changes throughout each day and over seasons.

Able to work outdoors, year-round, in all conditions.

Ability to drive a large truck in adverse conditions

General data analysis skills

Python programming skills are preferred.

This is a wage hourly position and hours are not guaranteed.

This position is expected to extend through April 2027.
