Adjunct Instructor- Part Time (Chemistry)

SUNY Broome Community College's Chemistry Department is seeking candidates for part-time adjunct instructors who are qualified to teach chemistry courses.  

Applications for Adjunct Instructor positions are accepted on a continuous basis. Candidates are contacted and hired as opportunities arise, depending on the college's needs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Creating Syllabus.
  • Teaching under the guidance of the department chairperson and general chemistry coordinator.
  • Helping students master course content.
  • Assessing student learning outcomes.
  • Utilizing current learning management system technology (Brightspace) in the performance of job duties.
  • Maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics.
  • Fulfilling other duties as outlined in the Faculty contract.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related field is required. A Master's or PhD degree is preferred. 
  • Applicants who have demonstrated ability to teach General Chemistry and Food Science courses will receive special consideration.  
  • Applicants should be available for morning or afternoon teaching assignments.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.

Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
