🚀 What You’ll Do

You won't just be crunching numbers at a desk. You’ll engage in a dynamic mix of research, design, and real-world problem solving:

  • Advanced Analysis: Use high-fidelity, physics-based numerical methods (like finite element analysis) to harden structures against explosions.
  • R&D & Innovation: Conduct research to develop cutting-edge protective technologies.
  • Project Management: Take ownership of your work by managing deliverables, tracking schedules, and collaborating across various Department of War (DoW) organizations.

🎓 Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for innovative problem-solvers with a heavy focus in structural engineering, including a strong foundation in structural mechanics, dynamics, and material behavior.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Stand-Out Candidates: A Master's or PhD in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering is highly desired! 
  • Requirement: You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply.

💼 The Perks

  • Starting Salary: $85,000 – $91,000 (depending on your degree level)
  • Benefits: This is a Federal Civilian Position with full federal benefits
  • Career Path: The selectee will be eligible for career ladder advancement. The full salary range goes to $161, 313.
