Biomedical Research Assistant Interns – Brain Micro-Engineering Lab

The Brain Micro-Engineering Lab is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented technician to support biomedical research. The primary responsibility of this position will be labeling microscopic images for artificial intelligence training.

Primary Responsibilities

You will work with microscopic images of cells and tissues and use computer software, a mouse, or a drawing tablet to:

  • Identify and trace cell boundaries
  • Label individual cells and tissue structures
  • Organize and communicate labeled data accurately
  • Follow established labeling guidelines and quality-control procedures

Prior experience with artificial intelligence, microscopy, or biomedical image analysis is NOT required. Training will be provided. However, applicants should:

  • Be comfortable using computers and learning new software
  • Have strong attention to detail and patience
  • Communicate clearly and reliably
  • Have a basic understanding of what cells and biological tissues may look like, so you can label them.

This is a Federal Work-Study, on-campus, ACA-variable position.

U.S. work authorization is required.
