Research Assistant Chemistry

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a background in organic or analytical chemistry for a full-time Research Assistant or Associate position in our natural products group aimed at the mass-spectrometry guided isolation of bioactive compounds from microbial sources. The successful candidate must have a B.S. or M.S. in organic or analytical chemistry, and prior work experience purification using preparative HPLC  or flash chromatography will be a plus. In this position, you will be expected to advance efforts in the extraction and isolation of natural products from multiple fungal and bacterial sources. Responsibilities - Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Purify small molecules, peptides, polyketides and oligosaccharides from microbial fermentations

• Advance multiple purification projects concurrently

• Experience with preparative and semi-preparative HPLC systems is a plus

• Experience with flash chromatography is a plus

Qualifications - Key skills

• Familiarity with compound purification by flash chromatography and prep/semiprep HPLC

• Familiarity with mass spectrometry data collection is a plus

Education and Experience: B.S. or M.S. in organic chemistry or analytical chemistry. Prior work experience in mass spectrometry data collection, flash chromatography and HPLC purification will be a plus.
