Business Development Intern

Cignus Consulting, LLC — Leesburg, VA (Remote or Onsite)

Cignus Consulting is an SBA 8(a)-certified aviation technology and consulting firm serving federal and commercial clients including the FAA, NASA, DoD, TSA, and major airport authorities. We're looking for a motivated summer intern to support our business development and operations team.

What you'll do:

• Assist with administrative paperwork, including DBE certification filings across multiple states
• Search for and track RFPs, RFIs, and contract opportunities
• Conduct opportunity analysis to assess fit and win probability
• Support proposal preparation and document assembly
• Help with other business operations tasks as needed

What we're looking for:

• Late-stage undergraduate or graduate students
• An aviation background or coursework is preferred
• Strong writing, research, and organizational skills
• Self-sufficient and able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
• Comfortable working independently in a remote or hybrid setting

Eligibility:

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (U.S. person status required given the nature of our federal clients)

Logistics:

• Summer 2026, up to 40 hours per week
• Remote, or onsite at our Leesburg, VA office
