Extension Home & Community/4-H Intern - Beaver County

Make a positive impact by supporting programs that strengthen both youth and families. This internship focuses on 4-H youth development and home and community education, offering hands-on experience in areas such as leadership development, nutrition, wellness, and family life. Interns will help deliver programs, develop educational materials, and engage with participants of all ages.

You’ll gain experience working in both youth and community settings, with opportunities to collaborate, lead activities, and build professional skills. Flexible scheduling may be available depending on program needs. This is an ideal opportunity for students interested in Extension, community education, community health, or family and consumer sciences.

 

Responsibilities

Youth Development

  • Apply leadership and facilitation skills to deliver impactful 4-H and family and consumer sciences programming. This will include developing curriculum, planning and preparing for 4-H club meetings, and teaching group workshops.

Professional Development

  • Submit a fact sheet for review on a family and consumer sciences topic of choice
  • Assist with gathering data, reporting impacts and disseminating results

Content Creation

  • Create social media campaigns, promotional flyers, and news articles designed to inform and celebrate successful events

Event Leadership:

  • Partner with and support county faculty and 4-H coordinators in executing summer workshops, overnight family camp, community events and the Beaver County Fair

 

Qualifications

  • Be an undergraduate student or planning to attend in the Fall
  • Have an interest in the Extension program
  • Be dependable
