Zebrafish Caretaker
Li Lab – Department of Neuroscience, MUSC
The Li Lab, located in MUSC downtown campus, is seeking a motivated and responsible individual to assist with the care and maintenance of our zebrafish colony. Our research focuses on neuron-glia interactions, and maintaining a healthy, stable fish colony is essential to our work.
This is a part-time position requiring availability for feedings on weekdays (early morning or late afternoon) and weekends (noon). Additional responsibilities include routine maintenance of the zebrafish facility.
Time commitment: Approximately 7–12 hours per week
Compensation: $15/hour (after training)
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Reliability and consistency in completing assigned tasks
- Patience and willingness to learn
- Prior experience with animal care is a plus but not required (training will be provided)
We offer flexibility in scheduling time off with advance notice; however, consistent and reliable completion of feeding duties is essential.
A long-term commitment (one year or longer) is strongly preferred.
