2026-2027 College Bound Program Intern

Organization      One Refugee (1R)

Hours                 10-15 hrs/week (Flexible, but Saturdays & one evening may be required)

Location            Hybrid (Remote + in person at 1R’s Boise office & Boise State campus)

Dates                August 7, 2026 - May 21, 2027

Compensation   $15/hr (paid as an independent contractor)

1R’s College Bound program is a college readiness program for high school seniors from refugee backgrounds. We strive to instill in students an understanding of college systems in the United States while preparing them for the rigor of higher education. The program is engaging, dynamic and upbeat. We provide an environment where students can grow, create friendships, and learn about themselves while building community in a safe and welcoming environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in student workshops and engage in group discussions
  • Perform administrative tasks such as record keeping, budget tracking, data entry, note taking, and running various errands 
  • Assist, along with the team, in helping students with applications, admissions steps and other workshop activities
  • Lead occasional group activities such as icebreakers

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Junior or Senior in college (preferred)
  • Passionate about serving international and underprivileged populations
  • Competent in Google Drive, Sheets, Docs and other online applications/forms
  • Able to use personal vehicle for program errands
  • Highly organized and reliable
