Position Overview
The Technical Assistant will support the Utah Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) Center on a variety of transportation-related engineering projects. This position provides hands-on experience in data collection, analysis, GIS applications, and asset management while working with local agencies across Utah.

Key Responsibilities
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
· Conducting traffic counts, pavement assessments, and sign inventories
· Collecting, organizing, and analyzing transportation-related data
· Assisting with GIS-based asset management projects
· Preparing reports using GIS and TAMS (Transportation Asset Management System)
· Supporting video editing, equipment setup, and database management
· Participating in regular project meetings (virtual or in-person)
· Traveling for fieldwork as needed

Work Schedule
· Minimum of 10 hours per week during the school year
· Up to 40 hours per week during summer months
· Travel may be required during certain weeks, especially in the summer

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
· Pursuing a degree in civil engineering or a related field
· Familiarity with ArcGIS
· Experience with data collection, databases, or video processing
· Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
