Collections & Registration Intern
The Collections & Registration Intern supports the Texas Heritage Museum by assisting with core collections, archives, and educational programming. Under the supervision of museum staff, the intern gains hands‑on experience in accessioning and cataloging artifacts in accordance with AAM standards; indexing archival materials and creating finding aids; maintaining and updating collections records; and performing artifact handling, condition reporting, and preventive conservation tasks. Additional responsibilities include organizing collections storage, conducting digital photography for documentation, supporting exhibit object tracking and registration paperwork, and assisting with rights and reproductions documentation. The intern will also contribute to collections policy review, database management, curriculum development, and educational programming. This internship offers substantive, portfolio-building experience for students pursuing careers in museum registration, collections management, archives, public history, or related fields.
