Entry-Level Structural Engineer
DC Engineering is looking for an entry-level Structural Engineer to join our growing Structural Engineering team! This is an excellent opportunity to work for a multi-discipline engineering firm on a variety of structural engineering projects within the commercial, industrial and retail markets. You will be working alongside and mentored by experienced Engineers and Designers who are passionate about contributing the success of both our internal clients (you!) as well as our external clients.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team to outline responsibilities and execute on tasks in order to complete projects on time and on budget. General job duties include performing calculations and developing construction drawings, as well as structural engineering services throughout all phases of project (design, permitting, bidding, and construction administration).
Educational & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
- Engineer in Training certification or plans to obtain within 6 months.
- 0 - 4 Years of Experience
Job Role Description & Requirements:
- Detailing and design structural elements for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood buildings.
- Ability to meet structural project budgets and deadlines.
- Ability to effectively communicate with team members, consultants and clients.
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
- Ability to be proactive and a self-starter.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledgeable of capabilities & benefits of BIM and utilization of Revit
- Familiarity with and/or willingness to learn common Structural Analysis programs (RAM Suite, Bentley Suite, RISA, Adapt PT, Enercalc, Hilti Profis, etc.)
- Ability to utilize common office software (Word, Outlook, Time reporting software)
