Engineering Intern

Position Title: 2 Engineering Interns

Location: Green River, Wyoming, U.S.

Position Type: Full Time / Seasonal

Shift: N/A

Position Overview

Under the Technical Manager’s supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for providing technical and project support for a manufacturing and packaging facility. Assignments may include technical projects, cost‑reduction initiatives, capital projects, safety projects, general engineering tasks, or any assorted project involving engineering support. Paid internship with an additional living‑expense stipend provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in troubleshooting PLC‑based automation systems (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, etc.) under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Support updates to PLC logic, HMI screens, and SCADA tags to improve process reliability.
  • Help document and maintain control system architecture, network layouts, and I/O lists.
  • Perform basic programming tasks in ladder logic. 
  • Assist with planning and executing small controls‑related capital or continuous improvement projects.
  • Participate in project meetings, taking technical notes and preparing status updates.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and testing of new control systems or instrumentation.
  • Ensure all tasks and projects follow safety, quality, and regulatory procedures.
  • Apply engineering fundamentals (process flow diagrams, material balances, unit operations).
  • Participate in team, plant, and project meetings.
  • Communicate project activities effectively to stakeholders.
  • Manage time and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Provide process support and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Deliver a final presentation to management at the end of the internship.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Process Controls. 
  • Preference for students entering their third year with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

  • Process Control Minor preferred.
