Website Design & Customer Support Specialist

As a part of the USU IT Web Team, you will learn to use the USU content management system, Modern Campus CMS, as you:

  • Work closely with other team members and full-time staff to design and support website function and accessibility
  • Assist individual content managers across the entire USU campus system
  • Learn good web design principles and apply them to real-world projects

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills a must
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap is preferred but not required
  • Experience in good web design principles is preferred but not required
  • Experience in managing web content is preferred but not required
  • Backend programming skills are not required

While some tasks may be tedious, there is potential for growth within this position, especially for those who prove themselves to have a good eye for design, ability to utilize the power of the CMS, and understanding of USU branding and accessibility guidelines. Ideally, this student employee could work with our team for 2 or more years (including summers), so preference is given to Freshmen and Sophomores. However, Juniors at the beginning of their Junior year are also welcome to apply.

Additional Information

  • This is an in-person, on-campus position.
  • Interviews will be conducted in-person.
  • Hours: 15-20 hours/week between 8 am-5 pm weekdays (excluding University holidays) during the school year, with up to 39 hours/week for extended periods during the summer.
  • Flexibility around school schedules is provided, but shifts must be a minimum of 2 hours in length.
