Assistant Professor Electronics Technology
SUNY Niagara seeks a qualified and committed Assistant Professor of Electronics Technology to join the Business & STEM Division in a full-time, tenure-track position. This role supports the college’s mission to provide high-quality, applied education that prepares students for careers in electronics, engineering technology, and related technical fields.
The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative academic environment that emphasizes student success, hands-on learning, and alignment with industry standards and workforce needs.
The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching, program support, and student engagement activities, including but not limited to instruction in face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities (upon completion of required training), program coordination support, student advisement, assessment of student learning outcomes, participation in divisional and college-wide activities and committees, and completion of required administrative and reporting duties.
The typical teaching load is 15 lecture hours or 18 lecture/lab hours per semester. Teaching assignments may be scheduled during day, evening, or weekend hours as needed.
The Assistant Professor will teach and develop courses within our community college Electronics Technology program, including Principles of Electricity I and II, Digital Systems I and II, Advanced Digital Systems, Instrumentation and Control Systems, and PLC Programming. All courses are delivered on SUNY Niagara’s main campus in Sanborn, New York.
The start date of this position will be August 27th, for the beginning of the Fall 2026 semester. The successful candidate will be required to work only 162 days per academic year (August – May), and will be provided with a winter break from mid-December to early January, a Spring Break for one week in mid-March. Faculty are not required to work in June, July, and most of August, but opportunities for teaching Summer classes exist.
In addition to the base salary, there is the potential for overload and other assignments, which would increase the base salary. There is also a pathway for promotion to higher level salary positions (Associate Professor, and Professor).

Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
- PLC Programming experience.
- Minimum three (3) years working experience in electronics or electrical technology
