Camp Mah-Kee-Nac is hiring a Waterfront Director to lead our lakefront and aquatics program for Summer 2026.

Situated on the shores of Stockbridge Bowl, our 372-acre lake is central to the Mah-Kee-Nac experience. The Waterfront Director oversees one of the most visible and high-impact program areas at camp.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing a team of 25+ lifeguards and waterfront staff while ensuring safety, structure, and high-quality programming across all lake activities.

What You’ll Lead

  • Waterskiing & Wakeboarding
  • Boat Operations
  • Sailing, Canoeing & Kayaking
  • Swimming & Lifeguard Coverage
  • Waterfront special events (Regattas, Green & White, Olympics)

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all waterfront staff
  • Run pre-season lifeguard training (June 5–16)
  • Manage daily scheduling, staff rotations, and coverage
  • Oversee boat operations, fueling, inspections, and basic maintenance
  • Maintain compliance with Red Cross, ACA, and state standards
  • Serve as a key member of the camp leadership team

You will work closely with the Program Director and Pool Director to maintain consistent aquatics standards across camp.

  • Confidence operating and maintaining powerboats
  • Experience supervising and developing young staff
  • Organized, calm, and decisive under pressure
  • Commitment to safety and team culture

This role requires both operational competence and leadership presence.
