Project Scheduler

Are you a detail‑oriented professional with a passion for project management? We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Project Scheduler. In this critical role, you will develop, expand, and maintain detailed project schedules for one or more projects within our department. You will collaborate closely with project teams and stakeholders to support accurate forecasting, earned value reporting, schedule risk identification, and performance tracking. What You Will Do:

  • Develop, expand, and maintain detailed project schedules for one or more projects managed by the department.  This includes managing a forecast schedule for regular distribution to the project team and maintaining a baseline through change management procedures. 
  • Collaborate with the various partners to receive the information required for accurate and timely critical-path management of the project schedules.  This includes proper budget/resource loading to establish a performance measurement baseline and following established rules of credit for tracking progress during earned value reporting.
  • Experience in earned value management analysis and reporting.  Able to articulate schedule variance in detail to the project team as well summarize for upper management.
  • Support the implementation of a project Work Breakdown Structure during the development stage of a project that helps facilitate budget development, cost control, schedule management, and progress & performance.
  • Develop detailed “what-if” schedules outside the master schedule as requested to communicate options to the project team.
  • Support the identification and reporting of schedule impacts and risk, and support recovery planning or mitigation where necessary.
  • Must adhere to company standards and guidelines for the development of schedules. 
  • Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills/facilitation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a larger project team and within a project controls team.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and tight deadlines, with changing and competing priorities on short notice.

 

Who You Are:

  • You have the following education and experience:
  • Post-secondary education
  • 0-2 years of Primavera P6 software experience, or relevant construction or project experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Must be a proven high performer.
  • Project Scheduling Professional (PMP-SP) preferred but not required.
  • Capable of making decisions that are normally within established guidelines
  • Assigns tasks and provides guidance; identifies issues; reviews work for accuracy and adequacy.

 

Physical Requirements:

Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement. Mobility to walk in outdoor conditions that occasionally involve uneven and slippery terrain and to enter and exit excavations. Agility with the ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and other devices using feet and legs, and/or hands and arms.
