Peer-to-Peer Mentor
As a Peer-to-Peer Mentor at USU Uintah Basin, you will provide guidance and support to fellow students within the university community. Your primary role is to assist new and current students in adjusting to academic, social, and campus life, fostering a sense of belonging, well-being, and success. By serving as a role model, you will promote student engagement, academic success, and a positive university experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Mentorship and Support:
Act as a positive role model and provide guidance for assigned mentees to help them navigate academic and social challenges.
Offer support to students, helping them integrate into campus life.
Assist mentees with navigating the academic environment.
Encourage mentees to participate in mentor program activities.
Resource Connection:
Be aware of university resources for mentees, such as academic advising, counseling services, tutoring, and other support programs.
Regular Check-Ins: Requirement is to meet with Mentees multiple times monthly. Attending training and group activities. Assist Program Coordinator in planning group activities.
Monthly Mandatory Trainings:
There will be a required training once a month to continue being properly trained as a mentor.
Mandatory Compliance Trainings:
There will be several compliance trainings that take up to a total of about three paid hours. These trainings must be completed within the first 2 weeks from your start date.
Time Commitment:
Average of 5 hours a week, will vary based on program training needs and availability of peer mentees
Expectation is to mentor on a semester basis, up to one academic year
Hourly Pay: $16 per hour
Requirements: Must be a USU Uintah Basin student that has achieved at least second year status (with more than 30 credits) or above in their educational advancement.
Preferences: Willingness to engage with fellow students and develop a sense of belonging across the USU Uintah Basin Campuses.
