Lutherdale Bible Camp – Summer 2026

Position Dates: May 27 – August 15 (flexible)
Hours: Full-time
Compensation: Starting at $400/week
Room & Board: Provided (shared housing)
Academic Credit: May be available

Position Overview

Cabin Leaders are the heart of the camper experience at Lutherdale. This role is responsible for caring for, leading, and building meaningful relationships with a small group of campers throughout the week. Cabin Leaders live with their campers, guide daily routines, participate in activities, and help create a safe, joyful, and welcoming community where campers can grow, belong, and be themselves.

This position is ideal for students interested in education, youth ministry, social work, psychology, outdoor recreation, leadership, or anyone who loves working with kids and making a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and care for a cabin group of campers 24/7 during each session
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with campers
  • Lead daily cabin routines (wake-up, meals, transitions, bedtime)
  • Participate in and support camp activities, worship, and Bible study
  • Model kindness, patience, and inclusive behavior
  • Support campers’ physical, emotional, and social needs
  • Maintain a safe and respectful cabin environment
  • Communicate concerns with leadership, healthcare staff, and support teams
  • Uphold Lutherdale’s policies, values, and community expectations

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Desire to work with children and adolescents
  • Willingness to live in community and work non-traditional hours
  • Ability to adapt, stay positive, and ask for help when needed
  • Prior experience with youth (camp, childcare, education, church, etc.) preferred but not required

Training & Support

  • Paid staff training provided prior to campers arriving
  • Ongoing support from leadership, healthcare, and community support staff
  • Clear expectations, coaching, and mentorship throughout the summer
