Structural Engineer - Entry Level

SSC Engineering, Inc. SSC Engineering, Inc. is a diverse multi-discipline consulting engineering company based in Chesterfield, MO (www.sscengineering.com) and is seeking a self-motivated Structural Engineer to work closely with our engineering design team to develop detailed construction drawings, schematics and designs for a diverse range of commercial, retail, educational and healthcare projects.

The entry level engineer will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to generate drawings and specifications for structural systems.

o Design steel, masonry, concrete and wood elements for new and existing structures.

o The role will additionally be responsible for coordinating physical space constraints with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.

o  The role will have the opportunity to learn local and national standards and codes while implementing designs.

Desired Skills and Experience Qualifications:

·         4 year accredited degree

·         0-5 years’ experience

·         One steel and one concrete design course

·         Masonry and timber design are desirable

·         Desire to quickly learn Autodesk Revit & AutoCAD

·         Strong problem solving skills and efficient working habits

·         Effective communication skills and desire to work in a team atmosphere
