Mechanical Engineer - Entry Level

SSC Engineering is a diverse multi-discipline consulting engineering company based in Chesterfield, MO (www.sscengineering.com) and is seeking a self-motivated Mechanical Engineer to work closely with our engineering design team to develop detailed construction drawings, schematics and designs for a diverse range of commercial, retail, educational and healthcare projects.

The engineer will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to generate drawings and specifications for mechanical systems such as:

·       HVAC duct sizing for comfort and to meet code requirements

·       HVAC fan coil and condensing unit sizing

·       Outside air calculations based on occupancy type

·       Plumbing supply, waste, and vent piping

·       Pump sizing

·       Building automation system

The role will additionally be responsible for coordinating physical space constraints with other disciplines such as architectural, electrical, and fire protection. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to learn local and national standards and codes will implementing designs. It is anticipated that the engineer will quickly adapt to the role and will become a key player in working with clients and end users.

Desired Skills and Experience Qualifications:

·        4 year accredited degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering; EIT candidates will be given

strong preference.

·        0-5 years’ experience.

·        Desire to quickly learn Autodesk Revit & AutoCAD

·        Strong problem solving skills and efficient working habits

·        Effective communication skills and desire to work in a team atmosphere
