Internship Overview

We are seeking a motivated Industrial Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer. This position will support our initiative to audit and re-define our engineered labor standards. The intern will work alongside our team to collect data, evaluate tasks, and contribute to updating work standards that improve efficiency and accuracy in our textile production environment. This information will be used to develop training programs for our operators.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct time studies and method analysis on production processes in the tire cord and carpet manufacturing areas.

Audit existing engineered labor standards and assist in updating documentation.

Utilize the Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (MOST) to assess and develop accurate time standards.

Collaborate with supervisors, operators, and engineers to identify process improvement opportunities.

Prepare reports and present findings to the Industrial Engineering team.

Ensure compliance with safety procedures while working on the production floor.

Preferred Qualifications

Current enrollment in a Bachelor's program in Industrial Engineering or related field.

Familiarity with MOST (Maynard Operation Sequence Technique) required.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Self-motivated and detail-oriented.

Internship Details

Duration: Summer 2025 (approximately 8–12 weeks)

Schedule: Part-time, Monday–Friday

Location: On-site in Decatur, AL

Compensation: Paid internship (rate based on experience/education level)
