Union Pacific Railroad

Marketing and Sales Intern

May - August 2018 • Omaha, NE

What I liked

I loved the real world experience in corporate experience. Also because I did not live in Omaha, they provided housing for the summer.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more knowledge about my product prior to starting the internship. The railroad is a topic that isn't usually covered in regular course work, so I wish there was a packet put together so I can do some research before hand.

Advice

Be positive and never doubt your abilities.

Information Technology Intern

May - August 2018 • Omaha, NE

What I liked

The intern program is very well organized, with social events (both at and outside of work) and countless networking events, including getting to chat with the CEO and CIO! They also provide housing and transport to work, so you get to live with all the other interns which is a great bonus since most people aren't from the city and don't really know anyone else.

What I wish was different

A lot of the intern projects were about web development, so I wish there had been more variety just to get to experience some more different things.

Advice

Don't turn down an opportunity just because you think it may not be in the best location or with the best company - you can still learn a lot and have an amazing time!
