What I liked

I loved the atmosphere at Melaleuca. Everyone is very focused on personal growth combined with company growth. I asked my supervisor to really challenge me (as this was my last internship experience before I graduate) and he really took me up on it! Even though it stretched me to my limits, I walked away feeling that I had learned so much and feeling much better prepared for my post-graduation plans.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have been there longer!

Advice

If Melaleuca offers you a position, take it. Their internship program is the most put-together, well-thought-out program I've ever been a part of. I was well-supported, appropriately challenged, and enabled to succeed. Wishing I could return again!

They environment was very positive and the work was fun and enjoyable.

What I wish was different

The communication between the supervisors and the employees specifically when it came to schedule changes. I would have preferred they would have talked to me personally on a quicker basis than talking with others and not informing what they were thinking.

Advice

It was a good job, but it would be best to start it in a time where you don't have a lot to do on top of it at first because it can be very stressful learning all the information.

I love the atmosphere at the Melaleuca call center in Rexburg! The employees are so friendly and it is nice to be taking only inbound calls. Melaleuca has great goals as a company and values all of their employees and customers.

The extra steady income that my husband and I were able to make during the summer was a nice help financially.

As with working in any call center, I guess the only thing I could've hoped to be different was the amount of negative interactions I had with angry customers over the phone.

You make the experience what it is. Your attitude will always matter and make all the difference in any job or life experience.

What I liked

They gave me some really meaningful projects to work on that made me feel like I was actually contributing to the team. My team was really friendly and included me in what they were doing.

What I wish was different

It would have been good to have more structure. I didn't always have a lot of work to do even after I did everything I could possibly think of.

Advice

Take it as an opportunity to learn more SQL and to understand how business logic works together with tech teams.

They continue to teach me empathy and understand someone’s problems and learn to solve them. The team environment is so fun, and it is great with my school schedule.

I wish that they were more lenient with giving days off, but who does not wish for that? It kept me honest and consistent with my schedule.

What I liked

I loved Melaleuca so much! they truly care for their employees. They have created a safe atmosphere to learn and to grow. They are also very flexible and come to understand your circumstances.

What I wish was different

I wish that I would have participated more in the small things they provided their employees.

Advice

Working for melaleuca is a great experience to learn how to problem solve and still answer with a christ like attitude. You learn to work as a team and to help those in need as well. Although it is not a long term career job, if you find yourself working for melaleuca learn all that you can it comes in handy.

What I liked

I loved the work atmosphere at Melaleuca. I felt very welcomed and everyone was so kind. I loved that the projects I worked on. I was working on real projects with others on the team and I really enjoyed that.

What I wish was different

I wish the internship lasted longer. Since I was working on a lot of projects, some of them had to be passed off to other people when the internship was over.

Advice

Don’t be afraid of putting yourself out there in the internship. Ask questions and get to know people. Doing those things will help you have a better experience and help you stand out.
